How to make your first drop in Rillfall

Turn the tower beneath the raindrop to find a gap. Follow one Easy opening in Rillfall, land on the next ring and pause before your next turn.

A blue raindrop bounces above the green front of Rillfall’s opening ring, with a wide missing wedge at the back left.
The drop is over a solid platform. Bring the wide gap around to it; the thin seams between green segments are not the opening.

If the raindrop keeps bouncing in place in Rillfall, turn the tower underneath it. You do not drag the drop toward a hole. Drag sideways across the play area until a gap reaches the drop, then let it fall.

Rillfall is our tower-drop arcade game. This example uses Easy, tower 1, First Drizzle, and stops after the first landing. That is enough to separate two things that can look similar at the start: turning the tower and actually descending it.

Find the missing wedge

Press Play Rillfall, choose Easy, then start the first tower and dismiss the opening hint. The drop bounces automatically. You do not need to tap on every bounce.

In the opening picture, green platform segments sit beneath the drop. The wide missing wedge is around the back-left side of the trunk. Look for that open space, not the narrow dark lines dividing neighbouring segments.

The opening platform lets you watch the bounce before turning. Waiting there did not advance the score or clear a ring in the checked run. If you have started but nothing seems to happen, that does not mean the controls are broken: the gap has not reached the drop yet.

Turn, then let the drop land

Drag horizontally over the tower with the mouse held down. On a touch screen, use a sideways finger drag. In this opening, a rightward drag of roughly half the play area’s width brought the gap beneath the drop. The drop fell through one ring, then bounced on the green platform below. The score changed from 0 to 1.

The raindrop bounces above the next green ring after passing through the opening, with a bright landing ripple below it.
One ring down, then another bounce. The next gap is off to the right, so the same tower angle will not carry the drop straight through it.

The drag distance is an example, not a gesture you should repeat blindly. Watch where the gap moves. A shorter turn may leave solid green beneath the drop, which simply keeps bouncing there. Release the drag when you have lined up the opening, then look at the next ring before turning again.

The next landing matters more than a fast spin. Start by bringing one gap into place at a time rather than trying to turn continuously all the way down.

Pause before the next turn

Use Pause in the bottom controls when you want to stop and look. Letting go of the mouse or lifting your finger ends the drag, but it does not pause the game. Resume continues the same run.

Rillfall’s pause card reads Paused, The rain waits for you, with a Resume button.
The pause card after the same first-drop exercise in a touch-browser run.

For the next attempt, resume and find the missing wedge in the ring now holding the drop. Bring that gap underneath it, then check the landing below. Keep the first few turns small enough that you can see what each one changed.
